FRAUD ALERT! Fraudsters on Rampage, See Their Most Recent Format
Fraud
As a concerned citizen and a banker too, I owe the general public the duty to give out this information thereby countering the excesses of some unscrupulous elements in the society who has chosen to be lazy.

Of recent the general public has been indiscriminately sent messages by some unscrupulous people who call themselves CBN agents. The most vulnerable recipients of such messages are bank customers who are the main target of these fraudsters.

As we know, majority of adults and even some few minors are bank customers. They operate one account or the other as they cannot keep their money at home for the fear of arm robbers and thieves.

I am raising this alarm because I have seen some people who fall victims of the preys of these criminals. I used to think that everybody will ignore such messages owing to the facts that they are not from any Bank. But surprisingly to me, some people rush to the bank at times to report that they gave out their ATM details to those fraudsters, and that their monies are gone. Such a pity!

This is how to know whether those messages are from your bank. Once the message is from a normal mobile number and does not carry the name of your bank as sender, it is definitely from fraudsters. Most often the these criminals claim to come from CBN. They are just bloody  liars that are only trying to manipulate the minds of the unsuspecting public. Moreover, the messages usually request you to call someone on their personal mobile numbers other than your Bank Customer Care lines.

Please I write to tell you to ignore such messages, they are neither from any Bank nor CBN.
Below are some examples of such fraudulent messages presently in circulation.

CCT TRIAL: Saraki, a Lamb Slated For Slaughter

CCT TRIAL: Saraki, a Lamb Slated For Slaughter
Saraki
There is every indications from the happenings so far of the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki over alleged false asset declaration, that the man Saraki is likened to a Lamb that is already condemned, and only waiting for the day of slaughter.

The trial so far manifests vested interests somewhere. The manner in which the Federal Government handles the matter so far shows that the man Saraki is out of favour with the powers be. A lot of unfairness and alleged bias had been grossly witnessed in the course of the trial.

To many Nigerians, this is a political witch-hunt. There is evidence of facts that the trial was incited by the Senate President's refusal to obey his party, APC and allow his then rival in the race, Senator Lawan to occupy his present position in the senate.

From the onset of the trial to this moment, the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT has shown evidences of over-zealousness in the case. The manner in which the Tribunal ordered for the arest of the number three citizen of Nigeria, Senator Bukola Saraki revealed that there is something else behind the whole matter. Though it's desirable that no country should show respect for criminals, the Chairman of CCT has demonstrated no respect at all for the revered office in which Dr. Saraki occupies.

To substantiate the claim of this opinion, lets look at the following proceeding in the case so far.

Firstly, the Chairman of CCT, Mr. Danladi Umar ordered for the arest of the Senate President like a common criminal, owing to Dr. Saraki's failure to appear in court.

Again, the Senate President's trial was fixed everyday, this decision to many Nigerians is to speedily convict Dr. Saraki.

Moreso, Saraki's lawyer, Mr. Raphael Oluyele was disgraced in court and was even ordered to be arrested, just because he raised a case of suspected bias in the trial of his client Dr. Bukola Saraki.

The above three points suggests likely bias in the case. It appears that the Tribunal Chairman, Mr Danladi Umar is under pressure to convict the suspect.

While I won,t like to condone corruption, i also wish that the fight against corruption would be a holistic one, there should not be any sacred cow in the fight. I therefore pray for Dr. Saraki, that his political enemies would not rejoice over him.

Two Events of Last Week That Shows Buhari Loves The Igbos

Two Events of Last Week That Shows Buhari Loves The Igbos
Mohammudu Buhari
Contrary to the the former belief that President Muhammadu Buhari may be displeased with the people of the South-East following their renewed agitation for self-determination, two events of last week has shown that Mr. President may not have any grudge against the region.

It could be recalled that since Buhari assumed office May 29th last year, that there has been protest after protest in the South-East region. The protest was majorly triggered by the arrest Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of one of the Igbo group, IPOB, and the Director of Radio Biafra.

Nnamdi Kanu is currently facing trial bordering on treasonable felony, organisation of unlawful society, and illegal possession of items among others.

Since his arrest, there has been this common assumption that the President does not like the people of Igbo race owing to his refusal to release Nnamdi Kanu to them. Besides, there has been speculations of the region being marginalised in the country.

But just last week, President Buhari and other Nigerian delegation was on a trip to China for international relations. Part of the agreement signed during the trip was an MoU to include yuan in Nigeria's foreign reserve. This agreement if implemented will definitely facilitate trade relations between the two countries. It will alleviate the hardship on the masses being orchestrated by dollar scarcity.

There is no doubt that the Igbos will be the major beneficiary of this agreement between Nigeria and China. This is because the Igbos make up the majority of importers in the country. And trading is also one of the predominant occupation of the region.

Again, the same last week it was reported that President Buhari approved Akanu Ibiam Airport to embark on flights to China, USA, and other parts of the world. This means that Akanu Ibiam International Airport construction contract awarded by former President Jonathan is being consolidated by Buhari administration.

This is a good news for the South-East region. And to many, it shows that President Buhari is committed to the development of the region.

ATTENTION! Hackers on Rampage, See How To Protect Your Facebook Account From Hackers
Hacker
It is common nowadays to see people bitterly complain that their Facebook account was hacked, and erotic posts posted on their behalf. I have seen friends lay such complaints and I can understand the kind of frustrations on their faces.

Try to imagine how you will feel as a born again Christian to discover one day that your Facebook wall has been flooded with nude pictures and illicit pornographies. It obviously feels bad because many of your friends on Facebook who were ignorant of the hack will get disappointed at those immoral posts.  It then takes your explanation to make them understand that such pornographies were not posted by you. But before then, your reputation has been put to test.

As we know, Facebook is the largest social networking website in the world with over 500 million users worldwide. Unscrupulous people would always want to take undue advantage of good inventions to achieve their evil agenda.
Owing to that regard, there is need for people to protect themselves while exploring social networks.

This article is intended to help you protect yourself against the activities of hackers. It will teach you how hackers get access to your Facebook account and how to stay safe from their unscrupulous activities. Enjoy yourself!

How Does Hackers Gain Access to Facebook Accounts?

There are different ways that a Facebook account can be hacked. Some of the notable ones include:

1. Email address hack

A hacker can easily get your email ID from your Facebook profile. What the hacker does is to guess your password from your name. For some people that uses a weak password, their password can be accurately guessed by hackers thereby leading to their accounts being hacked.

2. Phishing

This is one of the easiest way to trick people into giving out their facebook login details. What the hacker does is to setup a website similar to Facebook and sending people emails that somebody tagged them on Facebook, and ask them to click a link they provide below. Such websites are designed to detect users login details.

3. Keylogging through keyloggers

Keyloggers is a kind of computer virus that tracks keystrokes. Hackers can install keyloggers on a computer system to record all the activities that is going on on the system.

Other ways that hackers gain access into somebody's Facebook account is through posts on Facebook that carries a link. Such links usually asks for your permission to leave your Facebook page, sometimes it notifies you that you are about to enter untrusted  location. Any attempt to continue on such sites automatically gives the hacker access to your account.

Now, How Do You Protect Your Account From Hackers?

1. Choose a strong password

To prevent hackers from gaining access to your Facebook account, make sure you use a strong password. A strong password should be difficult to guess, yet easy to remember. It should be at least eight characters, containing at least one uppercase, number and special character. Never use your name as your password, rather, a combination of your names.

2. Hide your email address

Since your Facebook username can either be you email or phone number, try to hide it on your profile. To do this, login to your Facebook account and click 'Profile'. On the profile page, click 'About' and navigate to 'Contact and Basic Info'. Locate 'Email' field and click on Edith.

Then click on the 'Lock' icon besides the email address and click 'Only Me'. Next is to click the down arrow on the far right and select 'Hidden from Timeline'.
Done! You have successfully hid your email from public domain.

3. Do not share your password with anyone

Some people share their facebook password with their loved ones especially lovers. But when it comes to hacking, everybody is a suspect. Therefore, never you share your password with anyone that you don't trust. This enables you to be in total control of your Facebook account.

4. Avoid using 'remember password' on public computers

When using a computer or a device that does not solely belong to you, avoid using remember password feature. This is because, remember password feature keeps you logged in even when you have shut down the computer.

5. Always remember to logout when accessing your account on public computers

It is important to always logout of your account immediately you finish especially when you are using public devices. This is important because failure to do that will give the next user access to your Facebook account.

6. Enter your password to only trusted computers

If you are using a computer that you don't absolutely trust, avoid typing in your password to such computers. This is because hackers usually use keystroke loggers on systems that keeps record of everything you type including passwords.

7. Enable login notification

You can enable login notification so that whenever anybody or hacker tries to login to your Facebook account you will immediately get notification on you mobile phone from Facebook. This will help you to know that it's time to change your password as hackers may have gotten access into your account.

8. Always check your active sessions.

Anytime you notice an unfamiliar location or device, just know that your Facebook might be at risk. Quickly change your password to block such unauthorised access into your account.

To check active sessions, go to Home >Account Settings >Security >Active Sessions.

9. Enable secure browsing

Finally on how to protect your Facebook account from hackers, enable secure browsing to make your account more secure.

To enable secure browsing, go to Home >Account Settings >Security >Secure Browsing.

How To Recover Your Facebook Account From Hackers

Once you notice that your Facebook account has been hacked, the only way to recover your account back is to quickly change your password.
