Sen Ekweremadu Makes History As EFCC Decorates Him An Anti-Corruption Ambassador

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu was today elevated to another level in Nigerian political atmosphere as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC decorated him as an Anti-Corruption Ambassor. This kind of honour was the first of its kind since the establishment of EFCC.

The event took place in his office today, Tuesday 19th April, 2016 at the NASS complex. The EFCC team was led by National Assembly Laison Officer, Suleiman Bakari. Senator Ike Ekweremadu was presented a frame on behalf of the EFCC acting Chairman Ibrahim Magu, as a token of appreciation of the Commission's respect for his anti-corruption values. 

By today's event, Senator Ike Ekweremadu appears to be corruption free as EFCC cannot confer such honour on a corrupt politician. 

Today's event is no doubt a plus to Senator Ekweremadu's political career. This astout politician has undoubtedly  continued to gain credibility in the eyes of Nigerians. 

In appreciation to the EFCC for the honour conferred on him as an anti-cortuption Ambassador, Senator Ekweremadu assured the Commission that he will continue to live up to the trust reposed on him, stressing that the National Assembly will do everything possible to ensure that the bill before it, aimed at strengthening and fighting corruption got speedy attention.

It could be recalled that the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has be advocating support for special courts for anti-corruption cases.
